CAS has always contained a fully-competent tax rating and reporting subsystem. There, it is the system user's responsibility to define applicable taxes and rates for jurisdictions where business is done. Because of relatively limited geographic market areas, many CAS users are satisfied maintaining their own tax tables.
Some firms, however, need to put tax rates and processes in the hands of professionals. CAS directly supports Billsoft's EZTax, which provides outsourced tax rating, or it may be deployed as a complete in-house tax rating system.
